About the Event

Did you know that the bassoon is one of the most difficult instruments to play? It is a woodwind instrument known for its expressive, warm vibrato. Enjoy hearing its distinctive tone and color, and find out so much more from someone who has mastered it. This workshop will be led by Douglas Brown. 

Program Details

Join us on third Fridays for our new music series, In the Spotlight: Finally! In each session you will meet a member of the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, who will tell us about their instruments, play for us, and let us know why they chose them even though they rarely have any solo parts! We will meet Douglas Brown, bassoonist; Karen Bea, violist; and Kevin Bock, tubaist. These workshops are free.
